HUNTSVILLE, Ala., March 10, 2021 – The North Alabama Chapter of the Public Relations Council of Alabama (NAPRCA) is looking for local nonprofit organizations seeking assistance in their public relations/marketing outreach efforts. Coined the PRo Bono Project, this annual initiative provides voluntary assistance to the selected non-profit over the course of the year.
NAPRCA’s PRo Bono Project is open to 501(c)(3) nonprofits located in Huntsville, Madison, Decatur, Sand Mountain and the Shoals. The application window to apply will be open from March 15-April 15, 2021.
“North Alabama’s non-profits are incredibly diverse, doing amazing work to benefit our community,” said Michelle Stark, NAPRCA President. “The PRo Bono Project offers our professional members an opportunity to support those causes – providing each year’s recipient non-profit with actionable strategic communications and marketing support that drives their mission. It’s a win-win for everyone involved.”
Examples of communication services provided will vary, depending on the non-profit chosen, some possibilities could include plans for internal and external communication outreach, media relations, social media analysis, community engagement plans, donor relations, event planning and more.
“Girls Inc. of Huntsville was thrilled to be selected as the nonprofit for NAPRCA’s 2020 PRo Bono Project,” said Stephanie Malone, Executive Director of Girls Inc. of Huntsville. “Our overall experience with the PRo Bono committee was absolutely wonderful. They took the public relations goal we had and lent their expertise to create content and a plan to meet our vision. Working with such professionals that were willing to help us elevate our brand in the community was a gift.”
Previous organizations selected for the PRo Bono Project include the HEALS, Inc., Community Drumline, ARC of Morgan County, Still Serving Veterans, and National Alliance on Mental Illness.
