Lessons from one of the top 40 PR campaigns in the world
In 2015, the opioid epidemic was ravaging Tennessee. The CDC ranked Tennessee second in the nation in opioid prescribing and fourth in the nation for overdose deaths, and health insurer BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee covered more than 1 million opioid prescriptions for its 3.4 million members and dispensed 6.6 million opioids, or 50 pills per member. Jennifer Brantley and Laura Haynes from MP&F Strategic Communications look forward to speaking at the June luncheon about their team’s “Don’t Be An Accidental Drug Dealer” opioid awareness campaign, which won more than 15 awards since it launched, including PRSA’s 2018 Best of Silver Anvil, The Holmes Report’s Global SABRE Award, and was named one of the 40 best PR campaigns in the world for 2018.
