A panel of expert communicators from multiple industries throughout the Southeast will share practical advice for facing the challenges of COVID-19 crisis.
Panelists include:
Kristie Aylett, APR, Fellow PRSA, is an accomplished communications professional with a proven record of developing and implementing programs that produce bottom-line results. Through her Mississippi-based consulting firm, The KARD Group Public Relations/Marketing, she provides strategic counsel and senior-level expertise to clients throughout the United States. She also teaches PR and social media courses for Tulane University and the University of California/Irvine. An accredited public relations practitioner, Aylett has been elected to leadership positions with various local, state, regional and national communications organizations, including serving as president of the Southern Public Relations Federation. She is a member of the Universal Accreditation Board, a governing body with representatives from nine PR organizations charged with oversight of the APR, APR+M and other PR credentials. In recognition of her contributions to the profession, the Public Relations Society of America inducted her into its prestigious College of Fellows, an honorary organization of approximately 300 industry leaders.
Bekah Schmidt serves as the Executive Director for the South Huntsville Main Business Association, a Main Street Designated Community. In partnership with the City of Huntsville and Main Street Alabama, South Huntsville Main is working to revitalize South Huntsville and create a vibrant community. Since June of 2018, South Huntsville has had $53,468,785 of private investment, 12 new businesses open their doors, and created 90 new jobs. Bekah is responsible for the day-to-day operations of South Huntsville Main, fundraising, volunteer management, public relations and marketing, community reporting, and, literally, everything else.
Macy Magnusson is a marketing expert who has worked in Huntsville’s healthcare community for seven years. She is the Marketing Manager for Crestwood Medical Center and focuses daily on engaging the community, physicians and hospital staff with the mission of Crestwood Medical Center. Macy excels at creative storytelling across multiple channels. Macy has been an integral part of the hospital’s coronavirus response, using best practices to connect communities to factual information that can save lives.
