[August Luncheon] Difficult Conversations

No one likes having difficult conversations – whether it’s with your boss, your coworkers, or your clients, tough conversations tend to be avoided at all costs. As communicators, however, it’s our responsibility to deliver concise messages in any situation. Dana Gillis will provide strategies and specific action items to navigate these difficult conversations and build strong, trust-based relationships in both your professional and personal lives.



Dana Gillis, Executive Coach with Transcend
Dana is an executive coach who works in fulfillment of the company’s mission to develop High Performing Relationships to improve organizational results. Prior to accepting his current position, Dana worked at, Alabama A&M University, as the institution’s Director of Compliance for Athletics. Dana was also an Adjunct Instructor in the University’s Criminal Justice Program. Dana previously served as a Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation for twenty-four years. Dana holds a level 5 certification in executive coaching from the Institute of Leadership and Management, United Kingdom. Dana received a B.S. Degree in Communication Arts from James Madison University. He holds a Master of Studies degree in Applied Criminology and Police Management from the University of Cambridge. Dana is a graduate of Leadership Huntsville, Class 24 as well as Leadership Alabama Class 23. Dana is the Secretary for the Leadership Huntsville/Madison County board of directors and serves on the board of directors of the Huntsville Rotary Club.
